HELLO dear saltshakers (: I haven't posted for a really long time.. hehe. About time I do. Just want to give you guys and girls some encouragement from the story of Esther. Well.. many of you know the story, but some don't.. so I shall briefly describe what this dramatic, romantic and intriguing true story is about. Well.. There once was a beautiful woman called Hadassah, also known as Esther.. and she became queen of Persia due to a series of events (you can read to find out). But she was a Jew. During that time, one of the King's officials had a strong hatred against the Jews, so he deceived the King into ordering that all Jews be killed in order to maintain peace in the country. Esther had a cousin called Mordecai who heard of this order.. so he urged Esther to plead with the King in order to save her own life and the lives of her people- the Jews. The catch was that.. anyone who entered the King's presence without a summon was death. In the end, Esther placed her life in the hands of God and took the step of faith. God used her to save the Jews. The verse I want to encourage all of you is what Mordecai said to Esther when he was persuading her to approach the King. "Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to a royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4: 13-14) God gives us certain talents or gifts.. or allows certain things happen to us so that when 'such a time as this' comes, we are able to serve him. Sometimes God's calling us to do awesome and great things for him, but we our fears constantly silence us. Such that we fail to hear God's voice and follow in obedience. It could be our own hesitations preventing us from growing, instead of God choice to keep silent. Maybe some of us need to start praying and asking God how he wants to use us to serve him. With a lot of LOVE, SHA |
